NILDA M. GARCIA

Nilda M. Garcia is a Visiting Assistant Professor at the Political Science Department at Texas A & M International University. Dr. Garcia received her PhD in International Studies from the University of Miami in 2018 with a concentration in International Relations Theory and International Political Economy. She also holds a MBA in International Trade and a BA in Business Administration from Texas A & M International University. She has taught classes in international politics, foreign policy, American and State government, political economy of development, and drug trafficking. Her research interests include organized crime, drug trafficking, international relations, and security studies. Her most recent research focuses on the utilization of social media by Mexican drug cartels in her book, Mexico’s Drug War and Criminal Networks: The Dark Side of Social Media.
